María del Mar Rodríguez

Mar Rodríguez was born in Almeria (Spain) and  studied dance at  the Real Conservatorio  Profesional de Danza of Madrid. In 2010 she won the outstanding dancer award at the Choreographic Contest of Madrid, which allowed her to attend the American Dance Festival and Movement Research MELT. She is currently continuing her studies in choreography at the Superior Dance Conservatory of Madrid learning repertory of Jiri Kylian, Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, and Wim Vandekeybus among others.

As a professional dancer she has danced with Shlommo Bitton, Dani Panullo Dance Theatre and Ballet Teatres de la Generalitat of Valencia.

She joined AVA Dance Company in 2011 for the production The First Language.
